Robots – For a long period of time, Hollywood productions have conveyed the notion that robots are on course to dominate humanity, and these portrayals have been embraced by audiences as humorous works of science fiction. In the past, the New York Times and an individual named Mr. X published an article on the subject matter. I would like to emphasize that I am an ardent admirer, enthusiast, and supporter of all aspects related to artificial intelligence. I firmly believe that AI has the potential to bring nothing but the very finest outcomes, which is entirely satisfactory. Artificial Intelligence will assist in improving the quality of life for mankind.

Introduction – AI & Robots

During the formative stages, individuals who responded to the antiquated inquiry, “What is your profession?” were frequently met with a common follow-up query, regardless of their linguistic or cultural background or geographical origin. In contemporary times, the response to the query concerning one’s occupational pursuit of artificial intelligence carries an altered connotation. While an answer of this nature may have formerly elicited a rejoinder inquiring as to why the respondent did not possess natural intelligence, the contemporary reaction expresses fear and a plea for safety.

This kind of revolution tells us where we are heading. If you’re waiting for A.I, look around you — you will find some form of artificial intelligence at work almost every where/ Though its pinnacle will take around 50 or more years; machine consciousness is indomitable will happen sooner of later.

Robot failure can occur for the basic and widely known reason that their machine learning models may not be precise enough or require extensive data and training to be precise. Robots excel in tasks that pose a substantial threat to humans, have low economic value, are menial in nature, and are significant in humanitarian endeavors with high risk involved. It is unlikely that robots or AI with advanced capabilities will replace our jobs in the next 50 years or beyond. In order for it to meet the requirements, it must successfully undergo four fundamental examinations.

The assessment is known as the Turing test. It is necessary to obtain a higher education degree. In order to achieve ASI status and career advancement, an individual must maintain satisfactory job performance for a minimum of 20 years as an employee.

Will Robots Ever Rule Us

As per the Robot Institute of America, a robot is “a programmable, multifunction manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools, or specific devices through variable, programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks“. We all know that human emotions help prevent people from repeating their mistakes and learning from decisions that resulted in or went wrong in the past, i.e., negative feelings. In robots, recognizing emotions would allow robots to become more responsive to users’ needs, and exhibiting emotions would help robots interact with humans.

Interestingly, robotics with AI have very peculiar behavior that is dependent on the owner’s behavior, i.e., who made it (ya, it looks like a godfather concept). In this analogy, the programmer is the learning machine’s parent, i.e., like father, like son.” This may be true. Robots are no longer restricted to structured environments and, interestingly, can learn like humans and work well side by side with them in a much faster and more efficient manner.

Robots

Artificial intelligence is the only technology that is going directly from disappointment to deadly without being beneficial in between. The lemmatization of artificial intelligence has many names, i.e., narrow, strong,  general, or super, as well as its subsets, i.e., machine learning, machine intelligence, machine consciousness, deep learning, etc.

Can we really stop this storm of artificial intelligence? The answer is definitely no, as innovations have no stop button. Can we regulate it? The answer is yes, for sure. Regulation can define boundaries and limit the usage level of AI in each domain of today’s work. A word of caution: the regulatory framework should not be taken as a benefit or money-producing machine for some or a few people, or to kill it.

When AI is used most effectively, you won’t even know it’s being used. It will be running in the background, as mentioned previously.

Artificial Intelligence Market

Still confused? Then check your pocket for your smart phone; depending on the make, it will have “SHE,” i.e., a very soothing female voice virtual assistant, i.e., Siri, Cortana, or some other. Be careful and don’t fall in love, as this is a voice processing your commands based on NLP, or natural language processing, which is known as a procedure or software built into your system or device that can understand and process your language. It is a subset of artificial intelligence.

The well-known joke in robotics is that “robots are good for the 3 D’s: jobs that are dirty, dull, or dangerous”. Disclaimer: I am not saying Siri or such services are robots. Robots were never a single-task machine in my own definition, and now for real, they are moving beyond factory or work shop floors. They can handle with less dynamic or human controls, e.g., in hospitals, they roam safely to deliver medicines, help in operation theaters, deliver towels in hotels, and handle minbar items. Also entered the pleasure industry to sleep with humans. All thanks to sensors and smart technology, new generations of robots are much safer to live with.

Did you know

Soon a cloud-based virtual assistant will take over control of our emails, SMS, contacts, and social media by talking to us in a warm and husky voice and proving to you that she knows you better than your brother, mother, friend, or even your very own wife (soon to be ex if you don’t control yourself). Soon, suggestions and directions will come through for what to do next, and humans will become robots or even dump humans. One hour of such assistance will bring our lives to a standstill.

Don’t worry; your infatuation eventually cools off after you realize she is carrying on equally intimate conversations with thousands of other customers. Learning in robots is becoming the same as the human learning process, i.e., trial and error. Helping customers on the internet has been used for decades in some form or another, but as humans age, mature, and become smarter,

Where the World is Going – Robots and Robotics

“Robot” is derived from a Czech word meaning “forced labor”. Czech writer Karel Capek first used the term robot in 1921. A behavior-based approach to action selection in cooperative robotics ranging from reflexive to super-smart agents incorporates models of motivations to enable robots to cooperate without explicitly negotiating or being instructed. Using robots for environmental remediation and restoration of irradiated and polluted sites, manufacturing and AI currently appear to be merging.

Business Technology

Manufacturing is now shifting to a “mass customization” phase, where companies that can economically make short runs of special-order goods are thriving. Example: If you hire a self-driving car to take you to work or to an appointment, you drive home, park for free, and then return later to pick you up.

The pressure is on for industrial robots, more correctly referred to as industrial manipulators, to be rapidly reprogrammed and more forgiving if a part isn’t placed exactly as expected in their workspace. As a result, AI techniques are migrating to industrial manipulators. My question is: are we not learning about our own intelligence or handing over our capabilities to machines?

As per Professor Andrew, machine learning is a revolution in the history of mankind. The first one was when machines came and took our basic jobs to make us faster and our lives easier. To me, this second one is coming to make us lazy and heavily dependent. The technique that made easy work possible is no longer AI but something mundane.

Conclusion –In the next couple of years, we should see a vast improvement in current state-of-the-art machine learning in cyber-security, payment intelligence, and info-security intelligence. Instead, business silently gravitates toward the subtasks that have been implicitly performed.

A classic example of this in AI is a critical tool to improve customer experience, i.e., facial recognition technology, which is 10 to 15 times more accurate than human beings at identifying people. Innovation, which is fueled by advances in computing power and connectivity, has grown rapidly in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence. With technology advancing at breakneck speeds and demystifying robotics and artificial intelligence with new applications, machinery, and ultra-fast processes in business, factories, and homes, in short, from teleportation to autonomy, History doesn’t lie; any way robots were used in the military and industry invested in robotics in order to build nuclear weapons and power plants, this is where things would go tribally wrong.

  1. Very informative and a nice article! Yes, we just don’t require machines we need some security and other aspects to be maintained

  2. Thanks for sharing the nice article. You have unfolded almost all the uses of robots in a day to day life. This is a really informative article for people to understand how much robotics education is important in future. Robotics education is gaining popularity among kids too. You should also check this, http://gocoderz.com/blog/robotics-for-education/ as another good source of information.

    1. Sure I will. Thanks for sharing
