Viltrox 75mm f1.2 – A very young and limitless gear. It is a class of gadgets where theories of the subject aren’t strongly established and views quickly change almost daily for extremely good reasons and that too in its favour.

When I first went out with my lens and posted the images on Facebook, the reaction from genius photographers and players of Masterstroke was pretty immediate – compliments on how sharp the images were and how pleasing the bokeh looked, sure, but also complaints about how I hadn’t included any details about my gear in the photo’s description. In other words, despite being relatively new to this whole photography thing, I was already making waves! Oh well, guess I’m just THAT good…

Fujifilm native alternatives were always heavily criticised by most of the master photographers, but this bokeh monster put the pin-drop silence to most of those lips.

Introduction – Viltrox

Viltrox decided to impress so many of us i.e. Fujifilm X-mount users and made sure it tells the world by the noise of its successful engineering masterpiece. Viltrox came up with Viltrox 75mm F1.2 which was announced on 26 December 2022.

What went right

Build Quality: Let’s talk about the build quality and outlook of this bokeh beast. First thing first this Viltrox 75mm f1.2 pro does not fall anywhere near to its prime lens lineup for APS-C cameras. It’s a metal body and extremely solid construction quality with excellent finishing except for the lens hood (maybe for a reason they kept it like this). The ergonomics and design process is well thought out and built.

The Viltrox 75mm f1.2 lens is so advanced, it’s like it’s from the future! It’s super large aperture and excellent autofocus performance make this lens hard to beat in the third-party market, and its professional handling and reliability will have Fuji fanatics (like me) jumping for joy! Plus, that oh-so-satisfying clicking sound when changing the aperture? It really doesn’t get much better than that – sorry Sigma!

With too many glasses inside, I can see a lot of engineering efforts went into it to keep its weight and size at the lowest compared to nearby lenses from other players but a bit heavier than my Fuji 90mm f2 but when I look at the price tag I can only smile and make my self happy.

Compatibility: The Viltrox 75mm F1.2 Pro is the perfect companion for your mirrorless camera – it’s like a faithful pup that follows you everywhere, but with incredible autofocus capabilities! It’s so friendly it’ll even be a pal to your Sony E-mount, Fujifilm X-mount and Canon EOS M-mount camera systems. With this little buddy, you can keep your creative juices flowing and capture beautiful photos no matter where you are!

SONY — Fuji X — Cannon

At first, it was released for Fuji X mount and, like an unstoppable force, now it’s on a mission to take over the world, or at least the all-camera lens mounts! It’s coming for Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts soon – watch out photographers, you ain’t seen anything yet!

Image Quality: When I compare this bokeh beast with the previous lineup of Viltrox, I can confidently say the image quality of 75mm is significantly higher in a 360º way. Simply a phenomenal clear image quality and the ultimate beautiful virtual experience make your capture extraordinary.

It produces impeccable images and your search for a new portrait lens simply stops here. A low light angle with a beast capacity allows plenty of light to have correct exposure for your image quality even with low ISO in the dark. It’s almost on impulse for everyone who tried it. You can see with Fuji what level of colour rendering it does.

This optical masterpiece is made up of 16 elements divided into 11 groups, including 4 specific lenses which are carefully selected to optimize image quality. The use of a lens with very low dispersion makes it possible to minimize distortion and various aberrations while consolidating a high resolving power.

Performance – This lens is guaranteed to give you the most beautiful shots with its HD Nano multi-layer coating to banish any flares or ghosting, plus an STM (Stepping Motor) for autofocus that’s so smooth and quiet you’ll think it was magic! Allowing for video recording, this lens is the perfect gift for all the witches and wizards out there!

Viltrox 75mm f1.2

Bokeh & Depth of Field – The joy of the 11-blade diaphragm and 1.2 aperture on the lens makes it an ideal choice for portrait photography, and the bokeh you’ll get is so soft and natural that it’s like you’re taking photos in a dreamy cloud full of happiness. Not to mention, the amount of depth of field you can achieve with this lens is beyond incredible – making sure all your subjects are looking their sharpest!

USB Updates – When it’s time look no further! Micro USB connection on the lens has this “marriage” covered- you’ll be able to keep up with the latest and greatest updates Viltrox has to offer, so you can be sure that your lens stays friendly with all of Fujifilm’s future camera models. Who said relationships have to be hard?

When it comes to this amazing lens, you don’t need to break the bank or put your lungs up as collateral! Everyone knows that relationships should be easy, and this ultra-bright 1.2 fixed focal length lens is no exception. Plus, it’s moisture and dust resistant, so you won’t get bogged down in the details. And did we mention how lightning-fast the autofocus is? Don’t miss out – this piece of machinery belongs in every photographer’s kit!

Machine Learning (ML) - Everything You Need To Know

Conclusion- Viltrox 75mm f1.2 surely has its own league with an extraordinarily different architecture than regular linkup in Viltrox network. The conventional layer contains a set of filters whose parameters need to be learned. The process of building a lens involves a major step up in the engineering team. This lens is amazing! It’s like a racehorse at the start line, it focuses lightning-fast, and even faster with the first few updates. It’s already great at 80 or 90%, no chromatic aberration or flare makes an evening out in low light just a joy. Plus, it gives you that buttery smooth, powerful bokeh you can’t get enough of! I’d confidently rate the lens at 9 or 9.5 out of 10. It’s a fantastic choice, for one step below pro photography game, all while staying easy on pocket.
